April was the first public after-action month: Army News put PackBot’s Najaf dates on the record, CRS published RL31872 — the first comprehensive congressional UAV stocktake of the war — and a Predator camera was credited with overseeing a POW rescue, while REMUS UOES reached its scheduled end.

## 03. Predator and the POW rescue — April 2003 press

**Threat landscape.** Persistent video over a rescue is a C2 product, not a Hellfire product.

## 05. Pioneer on the road to Baghdad — April is still the fight’s after-action

**Verified record — [Fact — B2]** June 2003 Marine Corps News (opened for later filing) quotes VMU-2 leadership on Pioneer finding 47 pieces of artillery including a Scud near Suwarah on the road to Baghdad, and “no Marine was killed by indirect weapons on the first day of the war.” Those quotes are June publications of March–April combat.
