### BLUF

August is a radio-rules file, not a blade-injury file. FCC DA-15-915 (12 August, docket 15-30) waives 47 C.F.R. § 15.250(c) so iRobot may use outdoor beacons for a robotic lawn mower. The mower does not ship. No CPSC page.

**Verified record — [Fact — A1 / B1]** FCC Office of Engineering and Technology order **DA-15-915**, docket **15-30**, adopted and released **12 August 2015**: “iRobot Corporation Request for Waiver of Section 15.250 of the Commission’s Rules.” The order grants the waiver of **§ 15.250(c)** and terminates the proceeding (30 FCC Rcd 8377). The system described is a battery-operated self-propelled robotic lawn mower that uses portable outdoor beacons (stakes) as a perimeter / map, operating in the unlicensed wideband range discussed as **6,240–6,740 MHz**, with beacon height capped at **24 inches** and communications limited to the mower–beacon pair, residential use. **Threat landscape.** A future US yard robot that would navigate by radio beacons rather than a buried wire. The August harm adjudicated is spectrum interference, not laceration. Residual: European and other-brand mowers with blades remain the live child-vs-blade class under EN 50636-2-107.
