**Verified extract — [Fact — B1]** BBC London reported the UK Airprox Board description of the 22 July Heathrow event: an A320 at 700 ft (213 m) saw a small black object that passed about 20ft over the wing and appeared to be a small radio-controlled helicopter. Landing at 14:16 BST was normal. UKAB: despite tracing and local model-club help, the operator could not be found; members were unanimous the model was flown in an entirely inappropriate location and that the dangers were not self-evident was a cause for considerable concern. A Heathrow spokesman called unauthorised UAV use near an airfield irresponsible and illegal and said Heathrow pursued prosecution for airspace violation. Birmingham University's October warning on 20-year growth of drone use was noted.
