A smartphone on the controller, via iOS/Android app and a Wi-Fi repeater, gives live view, tilt, settings and record start/stop, claimed in real time over 300 metres. Improvements: 5200 mAh battery up to 25 minutes, self-tightening propellers. Original Phantom now $479; Phantom 2 Vision $1,199, shipping later that month. “It’s not yet clear whether where aerial drone photography will be legal, but the technology is here right now.”
