Brussels opened Phase II on Amazon / iRobot. Aiper, “in cooperation with CPSC,” announced a voluntary recall of the Elite Pro GS100 pool robot. The numbered CPSC/Health Canada pages, with unit and injury counts, are still an August file.

**Verified record — [Fact — A1 / B1]** iRobot’s 27 November 8-K: “The European Commission opened an in-depth investigation on July 6, 2023.” Contemporaneous Commission text, as republished: the Commission is concerned the deal would allow Amazon to restrict competition in robot vacuum cleaners and to strengthen its position as online marketplace provider; preliminary theories include foreclosure on the Amazon storefront (search, ads, Alexa interoperability) and use of iRobot user / robot / third-party data as an input to marketplace and advertising markets. Vestager, as quoted by TechCrunch (7 July): Amazon’s dual role as marketplace and retailer is the concern; opening Phase II “does not prejudge the outcome.” Contemporaneous clock as reported: 90 working days, until 15 November 2023 (later extended; the November 8-K states a 14 February 2024 deadline). ## 02. Aiper Elite Pro GS100 — manufacturer voluntary recall

**Product class.** Pool-cleaning robots

**Verified record — [Fact — A1]** Aiper, “in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission,” announced a voluntary recall and replacement of the **Elite Pro, model GS100**, sold through Amazon.com and Aiper.com between **5 January and 29 May 2023**. Hazard as written: the battery can overheat if the charging cord is incorrectly inserted, “causing a risk for thermal burn or fire hazard”; charging without the correct adapter can cause the pack to “overheat, short circuit, smoke and/or spark.” All GS100 units. Remedy: stop use; free return label; free **Seagull Pro** shipped within seven days of receipt. The July manufacturer page does **not** state a unit count, an incident count, or an injury count.
