Never Fact without a reputable primary. | | Signals graduated | 2 | ## Executive read ### BLUF August is the thermal month. Anker Japan opened a pack-exchange after a customer fire report on a eufy robot vac. Two days later CPSC and Health Canada numbered the Aiper Elite Pro: 17 overheats, one minor fingertip burn, no medical treatment. Those are two different charge-path files, not one story. ### Key judgments 1. **[Assessment — High confidence]** CPSC 23-784 / Health Canada RA-73992 (24 August) is the first 2023 official human-injury line on a consumer kinematic: one minor fingertip burn. Unit counts conflict and both are quoted. 2. **[Assessment — High confidence]** Anker Japan’s 22 August PR Times notice is a manufacturer pack action on eufy robot vacs, started by a July customer fire report. No matching US CPSC page was found. 3. **[Inference — Moderate confidence]** Aiper’s free remedy is the Seagull Pro. Whether that SKU inherits the charge-path fault is not established this month. ### Analytic labels - **Fact** — verified reporting or primary record - **Assessment** — analytic judgment - **Inference** — reasoned but not directly observed - **Uncertainty** — unresolved information gap ### Source grades - **A1** — authoritative primary record / directly confirmed - **B1–B2** — generally reliable and corroborated - **C3** — useful but requires caution (typical for forums) --- ## 01. Anker Japan / eufy packs — manufacturer exchange after a fire report *Event / publication dates: 22 August 2023 (PR Times; METI product-safety listing 230822-1)* **Product class.** Robot vacuums / mop combos **Verified record — [Fact — A1 / B1]** Anker Japan, 22 August 2023, 11:00 JST: in July 2023 a customer reported that a company robot vacuum had caught fire; investigation found a defect in batteries produced in a specific manufacturing-period lot; sales of affected packs stopped; serial-checked free recovery and replacement. Models named on the notice (as later updated on the same URL) include Eufy RoboVac 15C, G30, G30 Hybrid, Clean G40 Hybrid / G40+ / G40 Hybrid+, RoboVac X8 Hybrid, Clean X9 Pro with Auto-Clean Station, and named replacement packs. Purchase window on the August text: 1 April–21 August 2023. Primary: [PR Times](https://prtimes.jp/main/html/rd/p/000000452.000016775.html). Japan METI product-safety listing **230822-1** (recall implemented 22 August 2023) tabulated **9,588** Japan units on the initial line; live METI HTML returned 404 in this 2026 collection and the unit count is therefore **B1** from the indexed official table, not from a freshly opened page. [METI listing URL](https://www.meti.go.jp/product_safety/recall/file/230822-1.html). **No US CPSC recall page found.** Anker’s later global 22D51 program (batch week of 19 December 2022; stated 0.07 percent may smoke, melt, and/or ignite) is a manufacturer page, not a CPSC file. **Threat landscape.** A floor-vac lithium pack with a named customer fire report in Japan. Health Canada’s later “no incidents in Canada” sentence does not erase the Japan report. **Forum / community notes.** - none found. **Intelligence assessment.** [Assessment — High confidence] This is the first 2023 official-adjacent floor-vac thermal action. [Inference — Moderate confidence] The Canada page (18 October) will be smaller and injury-free on its face. [Uncertainty] How many Japan fire reports exist beyond the July customer claim is not stated on the 22 August PR Times text. **Opportunity.** A numbered CPSC page, or METI HTML that still loads with a complete serial map. **LRRK relevance.** Lab (pack lot). Watch: 22D51 global vs Japan-only vs Canada-only. Passport: jurisdiction mismatch. **Confidence.** High on the 22 August PR Times chronology. Moderate on the 9,588 Japan unit figure. Low on unpublished US exposure. --- ## 02. Aiper Elite Pro GS100 — CPSC and Health Canada number the file *Event / publication dates: 24 August 2023 (CPSC 23-784; Health Canada RA-73992)* **Product class.** Pool-cleaning robots **Verified record — [Fact — A1]** Joint recall of the Aiper Elite Pro **GS100**. Hazard: when the charging cord is plugged in without the adapter and/or directly into the machine port, the battery can overheat and short-circuit, posing burn and fire hazards. Incidents as written: **17** overheats including **one minor fingertip burn, no medical treatment**; **no property damage**. Health Canada: **no incidents or injuries in Canada** as of 14 July 2023; same 17 US incidents and the fingertip burn. Unit counts **conflict** and both are quoted: CPSC **about 22,000** US, about **50** Canada, about **four** Mexico; Health Canada **49** Canada and **6,664** United States. Sold January–May 2023, about $600–$800. Remedy: free **Seagull Pro**; free return label. Primaries: [CPSC 23-784](https://www.cpsc.gov/Recalls/2023/Aiper-Elite-Pro-Cordless-Robotic-Pool-Vacuum-Cleaners-Recalled-Due-to-Burn-and-Fire-Hazards-Distributed-by-Shenzhen-Aiper-Intelligent-Co-Recall-Alert) (HTML often blocked; unit line corroborated on official mirrors), [Health Canada RA-73992](https://recalls-rappels.canada.ca/en/alert-recall/aiper-elite-pro-gs100-robotic-swimming-pool-vacuum-cleaner-recalled-due-fire-hazard), [Aiper 10 July notice](https://aiper.com/us/elite-pro-recall), [Justia / CPSC mirror](https://recalls.justia.com/household-and-office/home-appliances-maintenance-and-structures/23-784/). **Threat landscape.** A charge path that will accept the wrong cord. This is the only official 2023 human-injury line found on a consumer kinematic, and it is minor. The remedy SKU is itself a product. **Forum / community notes.** - none found. **Intelligence assessment.** [Assessment — High confidence] Official arithmetic is now on the page. [Inference — Moderate confidence] Seagull Pro should sit on Watch. [Uncertainty] Why CPSC and Health Canada US unit counts differ is not explained. **Opportunity.** Reconcile 22,000 vs 6,664. Confirm Seagull Pro adapter architecture. **LRRK relevance.** Lab and Control Fabric (charge-path interlock). Watch: Seagull Pro. Passport: quote both unit counts. **Confidence.** High on 17 / 1 minor burn / 0 property damage. Moderate on US unit count (conflict). High on the 24 August date. --- ## Forward indicators 1. Any US CPSC eufy / Anker pack page. 2. Health Canada or EU twin of the Japan eufy action. 3. Seagull Pro field performance through a summer of charging. 4. Commission Statement of Objections on M.10920. 5. Any named pediatric robotic-mower case. > **Collection integrity.** The 10 July Aiper manufacturer notice is prior-window and is cited only as the start of this file. Anker Japan’s October expansion is not used as an August Fact. No August OPSS/Safety Gate consumer-robot page was found. No US CPSC Roomba / Ecovacs / Roborock / Shark / Dreame robot-vac recall was found. *LRRK — security assurance for systems that sense, move, and act.* <p align="right"><span style="opacity:0.35;letter-spacing:0.18em;font-size:0.8em">L-C3</span></p>
