January’s consumer kinematic risk is not an injury file. CENELEC publishes the first European particular-requirements standard for robotic battery mowers. The same week Samsung puts an onboard digital camera and a home map on a CES vac. No CPSC, Health Canada, or RAPEX consumer-robot action was located.

### Key judgments

1. **[Assessment — High confidence]** EN 50636-2-107:2015 is a control action on robotic battery rotary mowers (≤75 V d.c.), not a new published injury series. Catalog dates: publication **22 January 2015**; document made available **23 January 2015**. CENELEC approved the text on 1 December 2014.
2. **[Assessment — High confidence]** Samsung’s 6 January CES page names an onboard digital camera and Visionary Mapping Plus on POWERbot VR9000. That is a trust/maps primary, not a recall. Spring 2015 availability is a claim, not a US street date in this window.

Official catalog publication date **22 January 2015**; current-stage “document made available” **23 January 2015**. Scope: robotic battery rotary mowers and peripherals, battery rated voltage not more than **75 V d.c.**, charged from mains and/or alternative energies (e.g. solar). Explicitly excludes walk-behind, ride-on, trimmers, edgers, ICE / hybrid / fuel-cell machines, and battery chargers (EN 60335-2-29). “Deals with all the significant hazards presented by battery powered robotic lawnmowers and their peripherals when they are used as intended and under conditions of misuse which are reasonably foreseeable.” Not applicable to machines manufactured before CENELEC publication. **Threat landscape.** A blade robot that runs unattended in a yard. The physical harm named by the standard is access to the cutting means, thrown objects, lift/tilt/rollover, and reasonably foreseeable misuse — including children in the vicinity (instruction clause 7.12). The control named is design-plus-test, not a recall.

**Verified record — [Fact — A1 / B1]** On 6 January 2015 Samsung Electronics announced the POWERbot VR9000 for CES. Official wording: “With high performance chips, sensors and an onboard digital camera, the Visionary Mapping™ Plus System creates a complete map of the home to calculate the most efficient cleaning path, avoiding road blocks like a set of steps or a child’s toy.” FullView Sensor for obstacles; Easy Pass wheels; Point Cleaning by remote; Airborne Copper colour; “will be available in Spring 2015.” No US dollar price and no US street date are in the 6 January page.
