## Record

**Verified extract — [Fact — B1]** BBC reported Fars quoting Amir Ali Hajizadeh, head of the Revolutionary Guards' air force wing, that Iran had shot down two "Western spy drones" in the Gulf and that "many" other drones had been shot down over an unspecified period. He produced no evidence and said this was the first time the incidents had been reported. The drones were mainly used in Iraq and Afghanistan but "some violations against our soil" had also occurred. There was no independent corroboration. The piece recalled last August's Karrar unveiling (1,000 km range; two 250 lb or one 500 lb bomb) and noted the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain and Iranian threats to block Hormuz if attacked.

**Kinematic object.** Unspecified Western spy drones claimed downed in the Gulf; Iranian Karrar (recalled).

**Coverage frame.** military / incident

## Source integrity

- Why this is treated as an original: BBC first English write-up of Hajizadeh's Fars claim with an explicit no-evidence caveat.
- Wire reprint status: Fars is the Iranian source; BBC is the fetched first international report.
- What was excluded: the December RQ-170 cluster (separate identity).

## LRRK relevance

Watch / Campaign. A Watch desk would have recorded an uncorroborated IRGC claim of multiple Western UAV shoot-downs over the Gulf.
