Baden-Württemberg’s market surveillance finds defects on **10 of 12** robotic mowers, including child-foot protection and lift/collision sensors. A 10 June Skövde villa fire that surveillance showed starting at a docked robotic mower is a named-newsroom fire file; brand and forensic outcome are unpublished. Anki’s Cozmo unveil is catalog and is not numbered.

## 01. Baden-Württemberg — 10 of 12 robotic mowers defective (child foot, lift/collision sensors)

**Product class.** Robotic lawn mowers

**Verified record — [Fact — A1 / B1]** Baden-Württemberg’s market surveillance (Regierungspräsidium Tübingen) checked **twelve** robotic mowers. **Ten** had marking or safety defects. dpa/BILD: **three** of twelve offered insufficient protection for children up to three years against foot injury; on **seven** further models, adult hands or feet could reach the cutting means; lift/collision sensors that should stop the cutting means “did not function correctly” on **seven**; five had marking defects. Minister Franz Untersteller: “Die hohe Zahl an Mängeln ist erschreckend.” Three of the ten defective models were already off the market after the action. No injury or death count is stated. Brand list of the ten is **not** published on the opened BILD/RP pages. A later trade note that Viking iMow MI 422 P was one of two that passed is manufacturer-adjacent and is not used to name the failures. **No RAPEX A12 number was opened.** No mower fatality was found. 2018 Pertisau is out of window and is not previewed.

**Threat landscape.** A crawling child’s foot versus a battery rotary cutting means, plus lift/collision sensors that do not stop the blade. This is the 2016 official German statement of the sense-function gap. Physical-harm counts are unpublished.

## 02. Skövde — villa fire starts at a docked robotic mower (analysis pending)

**Product class.** Robotic lawn mowers

**Verified record — [Fact — B1]** A villa at Trädgårdsstaden in Skövde was destroyed by fire on 10 June 2016 while the owner was away. P4 Skaraborg, as quoted by SVT and Aftonbladet on 21 June, said home surveillance showed the fire starting at the robotic mower while it was docked at the charging station. Länsförsäkringar claims chief Ulf Lindholm: “Vi har fått indikationer på att det kan vara laddstationen för den här robotgräsklipparen som kan ligga bakom branden.” The unit was to be sent for analysis (Jordbruksaktuellt: Nationellt forensiskt centrum). Elsäkerhetsverket said it had **no previous known cases** of a robotic mower catching fire. Brand and model are unpublished. No injury or death is stated. No manufacturer notice and no RAPEX / CPSC page was opened. **Threat landscape.** A lithium yard robot on charge as a possible house-fire origin. The physical claim this month is location (docked mower) plus an open forensic path, not a closed product defect.
