**Verified extract — [Fact — A1]** Yang Huan and Hua Yi, World News Journal correspondents at the 8th Zhuhai Airshow (closed 21 November), wrote that more than 25 Chinese military or civil unmanned aircraft were shown by AVIC, CASIC, CASC and the Northwestern Polytechnical University UAV institute. AVIC's Wing Loong I (翼龙I) resembled the US Predator: medium-altitude, long-endurance, autonomous wheeled take-off/landing; the model carried two air-to-ground missiles; show material said it could carry reconnaissance and EW kit for surveillance, attack and counter-terror; a film showed it had already flight-tested. CASIC's new WJ-600, nicknamed a Chinese Global Hawk by hobbyists, was described as China's only high-altitude high-speed UAV, cruise-missile-like, all-weather, able to attack and do EW. Defense News was cited for a video in which WJ-600 cued a carrier and fed anti-ship cruise missiles, with payloads including SAR, EW, and weapons including a Hellfire-like KD-2 plus unnamed TBI and ZD1. NPU/Aisheng vice-GM Gao Xiaoqi said the ten-odd types were brought to enter international and civil markets. An unnamed military expert told the paper China still lacked a Global Hawk-class large UAV and a Predator-class recce-strike type and remained in a "second tier" behind US/Europe. The piece also named Daofeng, SH1 (Wenchuan/Yushu quake imaging), WZ-2000 (2000 show), Xianglong, Anjian, Changying, W-50, ASN-206 and Changhong.
