**Rule:** injury and death counts only when a named source states them. Viral claims without a primary are killed, not softened.

## Physical harm and official safety actions

1. **EU pediatric robotic-mower cluster + EN 50636 + Honda Miimo sensor recall (2018–2024)**  
   Only class with hospital-attested repeating severe child injuries (some amputations as a class of outcome) **and** an official blade-contact / failed-obstacle-detection recall (Honda Miimo, France 29 Jul 2024 / UK OPSS 6 Sep 2024). No named robotic-mower fatality. Official UK/FR pages state **no injury count**.

2. **Gomez v. PetPivot, S.D.N.Y. 1:25-cv-05622 (death 27 Jan 2025; opinion 24 Feb 2026)**  
   First published US federal opinion on a consumer self-cleaning litter box that killed a pet. Not Whisker.

3. **CPSC / OPSS lithium-fire family — pool robots and mower docks (2021–2026)**  
   Aiper Elite Pro (2023; **1 minor fingertip burn**), Aiper Seagull Pro (2025; ~32,660 US; replacement-of-the-replacement), Wybot Osprey (2026; fire on and off charge), Zodiac Freerider (2025; pool-water + cracked battery block → thermal runaway), Husqvarna Automower AWD (OTA charging-pattern fix), STIHL iMOW docks. No official death. Only official human injury on these pages: the Aiper fingertip burn.

4. **Pennsylvania AG v. Digital Dream Labs, GD-24-010283 (filed Sep 2024)**  
   ~14,000 prepaid Vector/Cozmo/Butter orders, most unfulfilled. No judgment as of cutoff.

5. **Embodied Moxie cloud-kill (Dec 2024) against the FTC software-support staff paper (26 Nov 2024)**  
   Children’s companion bricked without refunds. No case filed.

6. **iRobot Clean Base electrical (Health Canada, 21 Dec 2020) + eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid packs (Health Canada, 18 Oct 2023)**  
   The only official **floor robot-vac** actions in the window. Clean Base: dock short, 11,971 Canada units, no incidents. eufy: up to 240 Canada packs, fire hazard, **no incidents or injuries in Canada**. No US CPSC Roomba/Ecovacs/Roborock/Shark/Dreame robot-vac recall found.

7. **Unitree G1 public-demo contacts (2025–2026) + Go1/Go2 dual-use**  
   Not a home-deployment injury record.

8. **Modular Robotics / Dexter Industries kit packs (CPSC, 30 Apr 2020)**  
   Only official educational-kit action. 4 smoke/overheat reports, no injuries, ~2,400 units.

## Trust, privacy, and market structure (new lane)

9. **Amazon–iRobot abandoned (Aug 2022 – 29 Jan 2024) then iRobot Chapter 11 / Picea (14 Dec 2025 – 23 Jan 2026)**  
   First consumer-robotics target treated as marketplace + data input by EU/FTC. CMA cleared. Parties walked away. Category leader then went private to its Chinese OEM with an “iRobot Safe” US data subsidiary.

10. **Roomba J7 training-image leak (images 2020; MIT TR 19 Dec 2022) + 2017 maps-as-commodity frame**  
    Paid-tester / Scale AI annotator leak, not proven on retail units. Created the maps politics that attached to the Amazon deal.

11. **Ecovacs camera / BLE / cloud chain (DEF CON 32, Aug 2024 → CISA ICSA-25-135-19, May–Jul 2025)**  
    Best-documented home-robot-as-covert-camera case with a US ICS advisory. No known public exploitation at CISA publication.

12. **Cloud-kill chain: Jibo (Mar 2019), Anki→DDL, Neato (cloud pulled 6 Oct 2025), Moxie, Astro for Business (25 Sep 2024)**  
    Hardware can survive; personality and app do not. Neato button-start still works. Astro **home** was not the 2024 brick.

13. **Sony aibo ERS-1000 subscription-personality (FAQ 17 Sep 2021)**  
    Non-renewal erases cloud memories. No global ERS-1000 shutdown found through cutoff.

14. **1X NEO consumer pre-order (28 Oct 2025) + Figure Gruendel suit (21 Nov 2025) + FCC Covered List (28 Jul 2026)**  
    Paid home-humanoid money under no dedicated CPSC humanoid rule; teleop “Expert” can see/hear the house. Figure is not a consumer SKU. Covered List is category-wide for **new** unauthorized foreign advanced robots, not a Unitree recall.

## Explicitly killed

- Named robotic-mower fatality (EU/US/UK/AU).
- In-window Roomba infant hair-entanglement lawsuit.
- CPSC fire recall for Roomba, Shark ION robot, Roborock, Dreame, Ecovacs robot vacs. (Canada eufy pack is the exception.)
- “CPSC recalled 1 million Braava jets in 2021” — contradicted by iRobot CSR.
- “CPSC Safety Alert 2026-089 litter boxes” — no cpsc.gov page.
- Window-cleaning robot fall injury/lawsuit.
- Whisker Litter-Robot filed class action, fire recall, or privacy case.
- FTC or CMA “blocked” Amazon–iRobot (CMA cleared; parties abandoned).
- iRobot sold consumer maps to Amazon/Google/Apple.
- Retail Roombas leaked a toilet photo (development J7s / annotators).
- Anki mass-bricked every Vector in April 2019.
- Court ruling that a maker may not brick.
- Neato robots will not clean (button-start still works).
- Sony turned off ERS-1000 servers.
- FCC banned Unitree in November 2025, or made existing Go2s illegal on 28 Jul 2026.
- Figure is taking $20,000 home pre-orders (that is 1X NEO).
- Figure 03 certified safe for homes, or has a finding of injury.
