## Executive read

### BLUF

August 2017 is a thin month. BBC’s 1 August update on the July Reuters piece records the correction (share-for-free, not sell) and iRobot’s “does not sell customer data” line. That is a July file’s after-note, not a new spine. No official consumer-robot recall was located.

### Key judgments

1. **[Assessment — High confidence]** No CPSC, Health Canada, or RAPEX consumer-robot action dated August 2017 was found.
2. **[Assessment — High confidence]** The BBC 1 August paragraph is an update to the 25 July story. It is not a new Angle interview and is not numbered.
3. **[Assessment — High confidence]** iRobot still has not been shown to have sold consumer maps.

### Analytic labels
- **Fact** — verified reporting or primary record
- **Assessment** — analytic judgment
- **Inference** — reasoned but not directly observed
- **Uncertainty** — unresolved information gap

### Source grades
- **A1** — authoritative primary record / directly confirmed
- **B1–B2** — generally reliable and corroborated
- **C3** — useful but requires caution (typical for forums)

---

## No numbered signals

This month produced **zero** in-window spine-grade signals. July’s Reuters item and 28 July walk-back remain the maps file. BBC’s 1 August correction note is acknowledged and is not previewed as a new Fact.

**Forum / community notes.**
- none found.

---

## Forward indicators

1. Dated Jibo backer or public fulfillment.
2. Anki Cozmo still-shipping confirmation outside the US.
3. Kuri holiday-2017 ship.
4. Any 2017 official consumer-robot recall.
5. Any brand-named robotic-mower pediatric case.

> **Collection integrity.** Window = August 2017 only. BBC 1 August update to [the 25 July piece](https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-40714398) quotes Reuters’ correction (“share maps for free with customer consent”) and iRobot: “iRobot does not sell customer data… We will never violate our customer's trust by selling or misusing customer-related data, including data collected by our connected products.” Recorded as a July-file after-note, not a second maps signal. **Killed:** iRobot sold maps (still false); Roomba CPSC recall (none); named mower fatality (none); Pertisau / Vector / Jibo funeral / Anki shutdown. Forum empty. Thin month left thin.
