### BLUF

December built a web identity layer for the airframe class that hit the White House lawn and JFK finals: an interim final rule published 16 December (effective 21 December) created 14 CFR part 48 — online registration for small unmanned aircraft between 0.55 and 55 pounds, including model aircraft — because FAA incident reports had risen from 238 in 2014 to 1,133 through 9 December 2015.

## 02. Who must register — 0.55 to 55 pounds, outdoor NAS

Non-model continue Part 47 until 31 March 2016, then may use Part 48. Minimum age 13; if owner younger, an adult registers.
