CPSC finally numbers the Husqvarna Automower AWD fire: about 1,400 US units, five overheats including two fires, no injuries, remedy is a forced software update. That is the month’s only official kinematic action. Amazon Astro is now physically in a handful of US homes, still invite-only.

## 01. CPSC posts Husqvarna Automower AWD fire recall — OTA is the remedy

**Verified record — [Fact — A1]** CPSC Recall Alert **22-727**, 17 February 2022: Husqvarna-branded Automower **435X AWD** and **535 AWD**. Lithium-ion battery can overheat, posing a fire hazard. About **1,400** units; sold at Husqvarna dealers and husqvarna.com, March 2020–July 2021, about **$4,500**. **Five** reports of batteries overheating, including **two fires**. **No injuries.** Consumers must stop use and install the free software update being pushed; units with more than **1,200 charging cycles** also get a free replacement battery. Husqvarna is contacting known purchasers. **Threat landscape.** Unsupervised outdoor lithium + a charging pattern that ages the pack into fire. The control that CPSC accepted is code, plus a cycle-count battery swap. Blade/child injury is **not** the stated hazard on this page.

## 02. Astro is in homes — a few hundred, invite-only, still no general sale

**Verified record — [Fact — B1]** The Verge, 22 February 2022: photos and videos of Amazon Astro in real homes are appearing; the device “start[ed] to ship last November”; still invite-only Day 1 Editions at **$999**. **No February injury, stair-fall docket, or official recall was found.** The Motherboard/Vice internal-document leak is **28 September 2021** and is not a February Fact.

**Threat landscape.** A wheeled camera/microphone mast, sold with Ring Protect Pro, now physically inside an unknown but small set of US houses. Physical risk this month is unpublished. The trust risk is a mobile sensor platform with no general-availability privacy baseline.
