**Verified extract — [Fact — A1]** LAT local reporters established that a small quad-propeller drone hovered no more than 30 feet above the crowd outside Staples Center after the L.A. Kings won the Stanley Cup on Friday night. Fans threw objects; a Kings T-shirt knocked it down and video showed it smashed by a skateboard. No owner had come forward. LAPD Lt. Andy Neiman said police were treating it as lost property; no camera was recovered. The FAA told the paper personal-use drones were treated like model aircraft if flown carefully out of commercial airspace. The page cited the 1981 model-aircraft advisory (below 400 feet, at least three miles from an airport) and FAA administrator Michael Huerta's estimate that 7,500 small drones could fly in U.S. skies within five years. More than 80 law-enforcement agencies then had FAA drone agreements.
