Australia numbers the same Husqvarna Automower AWD fire. ACCC (22 June) is the new official page this month; it is not a new defect. No June CPSC, Health Canada, OPSS, or Safety Gate *new* consumer-robot action was found. No June injury primary.

## 01. ACCC posts Husqvarna Automower AWD — same fire, new jurisdiction

**Product class.** Robotic lawn mowers

**Verified record — [Fact — A1]** ACCC Product Safety, 22 June 2022: Husqvarna Automower **435X AWD** and **535 AWD**. “The battery charging method may cause the battery to degrade more quickly than expected.” Hazard: short circuit, overheat or ignite; “risk of a fire and serious injury or death to bystanders or damage to property.” “The defect has caused several fires overseas.” Consumers must update software via Automower Connect and must not use or charge until updated; some mowers also need a battery replacement. ACCC dates the first update to December 2021 (charging method) and the **second to March 2022** (app recommends replacement and can shut the mower down at a cycle threshold); free battery if required within 3 years of battery purchase and related to this issue. CPSC 22-727 remains live: about 1,400 US; five overheats including two fires; no injuries. **ACCC does not state an Australian incident, injury, or death count.** “Serious injury or death” is the hazard statement, not a count.

**Threat landscape.** Same charging-pattern lithium fire, now on a fourth official page. The ACCC text is the first of the official set that explicitly names “death” as a possible outcome. That is boilerplate hazard language, not a fatality.
