The Secret Service said a quad copter — a small four-rotor machine — had been found and an investigation launched. President Obama and the First Lady were in India; their children were believed to be in Washington, the BBC noted citing the New York Times. Press secretary Josh Earnest, briefing in India, said: I don't have any reason to think at this point that the first family is in any danger. U.S. media initially called it a small drone; the Secret Service later said it was a two-foot-wide quad copter that flew into the grounds at about 03:08 local (08:08 GMT) and crashed on the south-eastern side.
