July moved unmanned Act under the sea and unmanned Sense onto a JFK final: USS *North Dakota* (SSN-784) launched and recovered a Hydroid REMUS 600 from a dry deck shelter on a Mediterranean deployment, and on 31 July two airliners reported a drone near JFK — Delta 407 about 100 feet below at the right wing.

## 02. JFK — two airliners, one afternoon, one drone report

**Verified record — [Fact — B1]** NBC: JetBlue 1834 inbound from Port-au-Prince reported a drone 14:24, no evasive action. Delta 407 from Orlando, final, 16:55, narrowly missed a drone at 1,400 feet; ATC tape: “About a mile back there was a drone flying… About 100 feet below us, just off our right wing.” FAA: 100 feet is very close; engine-ingestion or windshield risk. NYC operations within five miles of an airport need clearance; FAA: do not fly unmanned objects above 400 feet. No injuries.
