**Verified extract — [Fact — B1]** Al Jazeera reported at least seven suspected al-Qaeda fighters, including two senior operatives, killed in Thursday’s air raids in south Yemen on Jaar and northeast of Zinjibar, Abyan. Officials said one killed was an armament chief nicknamed al-Galadi, originally from Marib; a second raid at Shaqra killed two, including al-Qaeda’s second-in-command for Lawder. Officials said one of Thursday’s raids was carried out by a drone. Earlier that week Fahd al-Qasaa and Fahed Salem al-Akdam were killed in an air strike in Shabwa; residents and an Ansar al-Sharia spokesman said that attack was a drone in Wadi Rafad. No immediate U.S. comment. Page notes U.S.–Yemen counterterror cooperation had resumed after a year-long hiatus during the uprising against Ali Abdullah Saleh.
