## Record

**Verified extract — [Fact — B1]** BBC Arabic reported the Israeli military said its air force shot down a small unmanned aircraft after it entered Israeli airspace from the south. Forces were searching for wreckage in the northern Negev. Origin was unclear; local media quoted Israeli officials saying it came from the west, not Gaza. Detected and intercepted about 10:00 local (08:00 GMT). The army was studying the track to determine reconnaissance versus a possible terrorist act. Israeli radio quoted a military spokesman saying the aircraft was not carrying explosives. Correspondents noted prior small-UAV penetrations had come from the north; three were attributed to Hezbollah; an Israeli navy ship destroyed an explosive-carrying UAV in July 2006; two others flew over northern Israel in 2004 and 2005 without intercept.

**Kinematic object.** Small unmanned aircraft shot down over southern Israel / northern Negev; prior Hezbollah UAVs from the north

**Coverage frame.** incident / military
