## 01. 20 April — Georgian Hermes 450 shot down over Abkhazia

**Verified record — [Fact — B1]** NBC/AP, 26 May 2008: reconnaissance drone shot down over Abkhazia on 20 April; UAV video shows a fighter firing a missile; Abkhazia claimed an L-39; UN concluded MiG-29 or Su-27 (twin-fin tail; Abkhazia has neither) and that the fighter headed into Russian airspace. “Absent compelling evidence, this leads to the conclusion that the aircraft belonged to the Russian air force.” Both sides violated the cease-fire (Russia by the shoot-down, Georgia by the flight). ## 02. Sky Warrior Block 0 — first Iraq combat mission 18 April

## 03. BAMS — Navy buys RQ-4N for $1.16 billion

## 04. Hezbollah “bomb-laden UAVs” — Israeli defense-establishment warning

**Verified record — [Fact — B1]** Jerusalem Post, 6 April 2008: Israeli defense establishment fears Hezbollah may fly an explosives-packed drone into Israel in retaliation for the February Mughniyeh killing. 2006: four Iranian Ababils; one shot down by Python 5 from an F-16; one crashed after takeoff; one shot down over the sea; one crashed in Israel. Paper’s stated Ababil figures: 150 km range, 300 kph, 45 kg explosives or surveillance. ## 05. ISR Task Force stood up — more UAS for Iraq/Afghanistan
