## Record

**Verified extract — [Fact — B1]** Al Jazeera reported a drone strike near the Yemeni capital killed three suspected al-Qaeda members, including a man wanted for the 2008 US embassy attack in Sanaa. Officials said Thursday the strike, believed to have been carried out by the United States, hit a car near Beit al-Ahmar in Sanhan, 15 km southeast of Sanaa. One dead was named as Adnan al-Qadhi, a former Afghanistan jihadist wanted for the 2008 embassy car bomb that killed six Yemeni soldiers and four civilians. Gregory Johnsen tweeted a question whether Qadhi was considered to be actively plotting against the US; Ibrahim Mothana tweeted about drone strikes in a “Secret War.” US drones had backed Yemeni forces against AQAP; after a May offensive most fighters had fled to eastern desert regions.
