**Verified extract — [Fact — A1]** Jack Stewart reported Google X's previously secret two-year Project Wing: autonomous aerial vehicles tested by delivering packages to remote farms in Queensland, chosen for what Google called progressive drone rules. Astro Teller (Captain of Moonshots) said even a few continuously shuttling craft could serve a large number of people in an emergency. Incoming lead Dave Voss (page spelling) described origins as defibrillator delivery faster than an ambulance. The prototype had about 1.5 m wingspan, about 10 kg total with package (aircraft 8.5 kg), four electric propellers, a blended-wing tail sitter that takes off vertically then transitions to horizontal flight, pre-programmed destination, then flies itself. Google would not be permitted to run the same tests in the U.S. Long-term uses cited: disaster-relief medicines or batteries and, eventually, shopping deliveries.
