Night of 17–18 May — 273, and Geran-3 in the mix *Event / publication dates: 18 May Ukrainian Air Force / ISW / NV* **Verified record — [Fact — B1]** Ukrainian Air Force reported 273 Shahed-type and decoy drones on the night of 17–18 May, including jet-powered Geran-3 (Shahed-238 analogue) with a turbojet and a warhead described in some Ukrainian reporting as far heavier than the piston Geran-2. ISW treated the night as among the largest single drone attacks of the war and as evidence Russia is innovating to beat mobile fire groups. Night of 25–26 May — 355 drones *Event / publication dates: 25–26 May Ukrainian Air Force, CSIS analysis of the weekend* **Verified record — [Fact — B1]** Ukrainian Air Force figures put 355 drones on 25 May alone. CSIS, writing on the weekend series, said Russia launched on the order of 1,000 drones and missiles across roughly three days, with 23 Iskander-class ballistic missiles in two days and more than 60 air-launched cruise missiles (Kh-101 / Kh-555 class) in the same window — an order-of-magnitude jump over typical weekly ballistic use. Through the window, Ukraine reported continued Russian drone activity (one overnight figure: 27 long-range drones, all claimed shot down) and ~147 front-line clashes; Moscow claimed thousands of Ukrainian “violations,” including thousands of drone strikes.
