**Verified extract — [Fact — B2]** Spiegel reported that an unmanned Euro Hawk prototype landed at the Luftwaffe base in Manching, Bavaria, after a flight of almost 10,000 km. Officer Peter Schnell said the Bundeswehr wanted to buy the type after successful tests. The drone had launched Wednesday from Edwards Air Force Base, California, and landed in Upper Bavaria just under 24 hours later without problems; several pilots in Germany and the United States monitored from the ground. The US already flew the type as Global Hawk. Northrop Grumman built "the largest unmanned aircraft in the world" — span at least 35.3 metres — able to fly at nearly 20 km (above airline traffic) and stay up more than 30 hours. EADS sensors were to be fitted at Manching to capture radar emissions as well as telephone, radio and television. If tests went well the Bundeswehr would buy four more, with deliveries 2015–2017, Northrop Grumman said.
