## Executive read

### BLUF

July’s only new official artefact is a GOV.UK HTML page for a recall that launched in October 2021. OPSS dated the Husqvarna Automower AWD fire alert 20 October 2021; the public page’s `datePublished` is 4 July 2022. No new defect, no new incident count, no July injury primary.

### Key judgments

1. **[Assessment — High confidence]** OPSS 2111-0087 is not a July recall. It is the UK file, now on the current GOV.UK alerts site, with five charging-time fires and a finding that the product does not meet the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.
2. **[Assessment — High confidence]** No July CPSC, Health Canada, ACCC, or Safety Gate *new* consumer-robot action was found.
3. **[Uncertainty]** Whether July shipping of Litter-Robot 4 produced a documented sensor incident this month is not established from a July primary (a December Forbes account exists and is out of this window).

### Analytic labels
- **Fact** — verified reporting or primary record
- **Assessment** — analytic judgment
- **Inference** — reasoned but not directly observed
- **Uncertainty** — unresolved information gap

### Source grades
- **A1** — authoritative primary record / directly confirmed
- **B1–B2** — generally reliable and corroborated
- **C3** — useful but requires caution (typical for forums)

## 01. UK OPSS HTML goes up — Husqvarna AWD fire, alert date still 20 October 2021

*Event / publication dates: alert 20 October 2021; GOV.UK page published 4 July 2022 13:10 BST*

**Product class.** Robotic lawn mowers

**Verified record — [Fact — A1]** GOV.UK page “Product Recall: Husqvarna Robotic Lawnmower 435X and 535 models (2111-0087)”: **Published 4 July 2022**; **Recall/alert date: 20 October 2021**. Models Automower 435 AWD **9678533-03** and Automower 535 AWD **9678534-03**; barcode 7391736592093. Hazard: charging pattern “stressing” batteries to unusual degradation; **five** reported incidents of fire **while the battery was being charged**. Does not meet Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016. Corrective action: recall from end users; manufacturer contacting owners to replace the battery through dealers; two mandatory software updates. PSD case **2111-0087**. Notified by Local Authority Trading Standards. [OPSS](https://www.gov.uk/product-safety-alerts-reports-recalls/product-recall-husqvarna-robotic-lawnmower-2111-0087), [PDF](https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/62c2c82fe90e077485f509c4/2111-0087-Product-Recall-Husqvarna-Robotic-Lawnmower.pdf). Jersey’s consumer-safety page also lists recall date 4 July 2022 for the same models. [gov.je](https://www.gov.je/stayingsafe/consumerprotection/productsafety/Pages/ProductRecallDetails.aspx?RecallId=1052).

CPSC 22-727 and ACCC PRA 2021/19240 remain live. Official injury count on the UK page: **none stated**. Official death: **none stated**.

**Threat landscape.** Same lithium / charging-pattern fire. The July event is transparency (a durable HTML/PDF), not a new hazard.

**Forum / community notes.**
- none found.

**Intelligence assessment.** [Assessment — High confidence] Treat 4 July as a publication event, not as the start of the recall. [Uncertainty] UK unit count and OTA/battery completion are unpublished.

**Opportunity.** Completion figures; any UK post-update fire.

**LRRK relevance.** Control Fabric / Campaign. Watch: 2111-0087.

**Confidence.** High on alert date vs HTML date, on five charging fires, and on the EESR 2016 finding.

## 02. Carry — no July official vac, pool, companion, or kit action

*Event / publication dates: window 1–31 July 2022*

**Product class.** (negative finding — all in-scope classes)

**Verified record — [Fact — A1 / B1]** Searched CPSC, Health Canada, OPSS, Safety Gate, and ACCC for July 2022 actions on robot vacuums, pool robots, window robots, companion/toy robots, educational kits, litter boxes, and patrol robots. **None found.** Husqvarna AWD is the only still-live official fire file. Toolis (1:22-cv-01290) had **no July ruling** on the open sources used. Litter-Robot 4 shipping is reported by later secondary sources as beginning in July; **no July official incident** was found.

**Threat landscape.** Absence of a July file is not a clean bill. It is a thin month.

**Forum / community notes.**
- none found.

**Intelligence assessment.** [Assessment — High confidence] July is thin. [Uncertainty] Negative searches can miss a paywalled or non-indexed notice.

**Opportunity.** A first mid-year official floor-vac or pool-robot file would break the pattern.

**LRRK relevance.** Watch: still Husqvarna AWD and Toolis.

**Confidence.** High on “none found” given the spine searched. Not a proof of none existing.

## Forward indicators

1. Any August market-structure event that turns Roomba maps into a merger input.
2. Husqvarna completion / post-update fire.
3. Toolis docket.
4. First official 2022 pool-robot thermal file.
5. Named pediatric mower injury (none through July).

> **Collection integrity.** July new official artefact: **OPSS/GOV.UK HTML for a 20 October 2021 alert**. Not treated as a new recall. Safety Gate 2022 robotic-mower HTML not independently loaded. FAO Schwarz excluded. December 2022 Forbes language on Litter-Robot 4 launch pain is **out of window** and was not used as a July Fact. No July forum threads independently opened.
